About CCP&S

In December 2004, the King Fathers and Queen Mothers of Emperor and Empress 13, Jay Henry Smith and Lupita “Mamita” Trevino, sponsored a Christmas show for the Reign 13 charities of the Royal, Sovereign, and Imperial Court of the Alamo Empire. The following year, Jay and Lupita decided they would host an annual Christmas Show for the Alamo Empire charities.

Jay and Lupita hosted their show for many years, usually together, but because of health issues, Jay sometimes hosted with the help of the Alamo Empire general membership. In 2013, Lupita handed the show over to Jay alone and he rebranded the annual event as the Community Christmas Party & Show (CCP&S). This included a pot-luck buffet provided by the members of the Alamo Empire and a fundraising show for the Alamo Empire charities with members from other GLBT organizations invited to attend and participate. However, it remained an Alamo Empire event at that time.

At the end of the 2015 show, Jay announced to all in attendance the event would become a truly COMMUNITY event, with planning and execution done by members of from the primary organizations in San Antonio:  The Alamo Empire, Texas Gay Rodeo Association – San Antonio, San Antonio Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Renegade Bears of San Antonio, and the San Antonio Girls of Leather. A generous donation in honor of Chrissy’s Kids was made to the group, and all organizations were asked to provide food for a buffet, raffle prizes for the evening, and if possible, a musical number in the show. Toys were collected for Blue Santa, food was collected for THRIVE, and over $2000 was raised and split among the five groups to distribute to local charities.

Following the successful event, CCP&S sponsored a March Madness Queso & Salsa Tasteoff and the San Antonio TUFF Drag Diva contest to earn seed money for the 2017 show.

This year, the Community Christmas Party & Show will be hosted by:

  • The Alamo Empire
  • Texas Gay Rodeo Association – San Antonio
  • San Antonio Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence
  • Renegade Bears of San Antonio
  • The National Leather Association San Antonio
  • Team Friendly Alamo City

with help from We Are Alive and MCC San Antonio.

We hope that you will come out to celebrate with us as a community and that you have a joyous holiday season filled with love, wherever you may be.

-Jay Henry Smith
